The Spring Went Out to Skate

Just to celebrate
The Spring went out to skate
On the ice it met its fate
It sank down through the ice
It didn't feel so nice

Then it doomed the cold
Melted the ice and snow
So the Spring arose
Cleaned its running nose
From the water overdose

It was time for the ice to go
For the rivers to overflow
The Spring began to fight
Knocking down the snowmen white
Chasing off the coldest nights
Making all the evenings bright

To follow its dreams
The Spring conquered the streets
Going for a ride
On its brand new motorbike

The Spring Got Up

Who commanded the Spring and said
Get up from your lousy bed?
For a while it was waiting
It was only contemplating
Then it took a hike
And rode ashore by bike

Now it's talking to the sea
Shouting to the sun with glee
Now it's singing to the lake
Keeping all the birds awake
It's discharging all the ice
Making Nature look so nice

Now the rivers overflow
And the grass begins to grow
Soon the birds are here to mate
And they will not hesitate
The Spring wants you and me to smile
So we better be so kind
Let's be gentle to the Spring
And avoid the winter's fling
