New Heat Record

Finland's new heat record of all times
37.2℃ sounds quite high

Twenty Degrees in May

I'm sitting in the sun
Smiling and having fun
Twenty degrees in May
It's quite a summer day

To the Boat on the Sea

To the boat on the sea
This is the plea
There is a need
To reduce your size and speed
To save the environment
To reduce the detriment

Warm Cold Winter

The world's coldest winter in fourteen years
Was the warmest ever in the Finnish spheres
It was cold in Central Asia
And warm in Europe and Russia
Still the climate seems to be warming
Consider this a warning

Birds

The birds are sensing the warmth
Conquering the north
They are now starting to fly forth
Sooner than later they arrive
And nature becomes alive
They build their nests and sing
And food to their nestlings they bring

04 March 2008

March began with snow

March began with snow
Now they even had to plow
The ground is white
At least for a while

Warmest Winter in Finnish History

The warmest winter in Finnish history
That's the story
Why are the temperatures so high?
These are the reasons why
Air currents from the south and southwest
Have put our winter to test
And the climate change of course
Is doing more and more

Where Is the Snow?

Where is the snow?
In Athens! They even have to plow
It's cold in southern Greece, it seems
They have to freeze
The climate is getting wild
Here in the north it's rather mild

I Went to Run in the Sun and Had Fun

Today I saw the sun
It was a great deal of fun
I smelled the freshness of the air
When running in my sportswear

There was no snow
It was easy to run and go
I ran by the sea close to my home
And continued to the woods where people roam

I enjoyed my trip outside
I'm glad the sun didn't hide
It was a nice day of February
In nature's sanctuary

Stay Away from Thin Ice

Be nice
Stay away from thin ice
Many people have drowned
Don't get icebound
Stay on the ground

Wind Power

Wind power into electricity
Means a cleaner city
Hark!
The mayor suggests a windmill park
If you ask me
Put windmills by the sea

Car Evolution

Does the car evolution
Mean less pollution?
Would it be a smart resolution
To put air into the tank?
Is it more money in the bank?
Would it take less energy?
Will there ever be
Clean air for us to breathe?

Icebreaking News

Icebreaking news:
The North-East Passage could be used
For commercial traffic
Does it sound fantastic?

This news was released
By the center of the world's ice expertise
Here in Finland of course
Where we have the knowledge resource

No Snow To Plow

We've had hardly any snow
No reason to plow
Our savings are a million
In the capital region

The sky has poured down a lot of water
That's the current order
In the new climate
That's how to define it

Arnold Will Sue

Arnold will sue the U.S.
17 states wanted the cars to pollute less
But the government said "no" - what a mess!
Car money talks
Even if the planet falls

Steep Turn To Seal the Climate Deal

Now, this morning, I read
The U.S. made a turn quite steep
So they sealed the climate deal

The framework is a bit weak
No percentages but "cuts that are deep"
So it moves forward at least

I'm proud of the EU
I hope you are too
It seems that we have some clue

14 December 2007

Wake up, U.S.

The U.S. seems arrogant
Can they be so ignorant?
They don't like the percentages
Even though they should know the damages
This makes me sad
Even more than mad

It's not fair that they don't care
The richest is the filthiest
And they affect us all
Causing us to fall
Wake up, US
You're making a big mess

Helsinki Mayor To Spare Some Air

The Helsinki Mayor
Will spare some air
For one full week
He will seek
To travel by bus, tram or underground
And this sounds quite sound

Hopefully this will gain some fame
And more people would try the same
I also recommend that you try the bike
That's what I really like
Buy a tire or two with spikes
Or just take a hike

Water Levels Rose

Who opened the hose?
Last weekend the water levels really rose
Winters are changing so
Rain and floods, instead of ice and snow
But tomorrow again, it will freeze
With a northern breeze

Mad Meat Pollution

It seems that when I use my fork
To eat beef and pork
I pollute more than a car
Would this claim go too far?

Is it time to wake?
One kilogram of steak
Is like a three-hour drive
Plus the house lights on at the same time

And this is not a myth
Of greenhouse gasses one fifth
Comes from meat production
Let alone water pollution

Are we taking a bite of the rain forest
When we eat a slice of meat, in honest?
Are we crazier than the mad cow?
What should we do right now?

Is this ignorance or badness?
Should we stop this madness?
How much more can we allow?
Who could set the example, and how?
