Day of Tears
04 November 2010
You Were Not Supposed to Go Yet
You were not supposed to go yet
Not supposed to leave
So many times still
We were supposed to sit at the table
At your place, my place, their place
And take turns making dinner
We were still supposed to talk and debate
And be quiet sometimes
Solve problems together
We were still supposed to laugh
Read and share poems
Yours and mine
We were still supposed to be together
All of us
The whole family
You were part of our family
Our dear and peculiar family
Now you are gone
You are the wind in the sky
You are the drops of the rain
A memory in our pictures
A memory in our minds
The sorrow in our hearts
You were not supposed to leave so fast
Not supposed to leave
So many times still
We were supposed to sit at the table
At your place, my place, their place
And take turns making dinner
We were still supposed to talk and debate
And be quiet sometimes
Solve problems together
We were still supposed to laugh
Read and share poems
Yours and mine
We were still supposed to be together
All of us
The whole family
You were part of our family
Our dear and peculiar family
Now you are gone
You are the wind in the sky
You are the drops of the rain
A memory in our pictures
A memory in our minds
The sorrow in our hearts
You were not supposed to leave so fast

Condolences to Kauhajoki

Condolences
I address my condolences to those in grief
I express my feelings with these words in brief
With my heart, I wish you consolation
And strength through desperation
The people near you
Want to be there to hear you
To help you in your pain and sorrow
To embrace you with their open arms
Helping you to see tomorrow
To hold you in their hearts

I with a Teary Eye

This morning with a teary eye
I reviewed what had just gone by
It was still hard to understand
Yesterday in this land
At work we shared the feeling
Searching for some kind of healing
Trying to find some meaning
And to understand the human being
And not keep so far apart?
Could we give more space
And show a friendly face?
How can we be there
When we don't seem to dare?
How could we beat the fear
How could we beat the fear
When someone needs us near?
I hope for a tomorrow
Without judging someone's joy or sorrow
How could we pay attention
And provide protection?
