Best English Speakers among Our Kind
Fruit from Finnish educationAnd internationalization:
Our English is the fifth best
From East to West
The top ones are Norway, The Netherlands
Denmark and Sweden, our neighbor lands (hs.fi)
To all these others
English is kin to the tongues of their mothers
Among all nations with a language of a different kind
We are the best you can ever find
We are the best in the whole wide world
In every sense of the word

We Finns are honest
Proud to be modest
We're strong and smart
Proud of our science and art
We're friendly, with a good heart
That's what we are

My First Poem Ever (27 Sep 1974)
I came from Finland one lovely dayTo spend a year in U.S.A.
And here I stand in front of you
Supposed to say a rhyme or two
My country is a lovely one
Where even at midnight we can see the sun
Thousands of lakes with pretty strand
Are one of the beauties of my native land
Nebraska out in the West
Will be my home till summer next
But that's not all - I saw much more
When I toured towards the western shore
The words you use are hard to say
But I will learn at least by May
It is so neat to be down here
I get a lot within one year
