We were diving through the sky
Feeling our bodies fly
Forward, sideways, through rotations
Building many great formations
In a group we reached the stars
Sometimes small and sometimes large
Formations of many shapes
As shown on video tapes
We were sitting in the air
Like in a chair
We made rolls and turns and flips
Moving our legs and arms and hips
We looked out of the aircraft door
And heard the engines roar
We jumped out in many ways
Those were the days!
The freefall was awesome indeed
Then the parachute brought us back on our feet
It was also nice to fly
Under the canopy like a kite
After hundreds of skydives
Jumps of many different kinds
For eight long years I stayed away
Why? It's hard to say
In my dreams I returned
To the sky my mind was turned
Still I held my distance
And kept my resistance
I was doing this and that
Karelia was often on the map
I opened a new gate
Backpacking in South America was great
I began scooter riding
Became fond of motorcycling
Then my jumping fever got high
And I rediscovered my roots in the sky
Now I came back to skydive
Hugged my friends for a while
The aircraft was waiting to fly
It dropped me from the sky
The time had arrived
There was nothing like a skydive
I am a skydiver indeed
This feeling is deep
